We are not “mono-mind”. We do not think “just one thing” on any topic. But what about when you radically disagree with yourself? In psychology these are called “polarities” – opinions or thoughts that are literally polar opposites. Often they are pathologised and people try to get rid of them. But did you know that this is an area of potential creativity you can set your mind to explore? This podcast episode gets right to the heart of the matter!

Contradict Yourself!

If you find yourself contradicting yourself, you’re not alone. Here’s a refreshing way to identify and use the polarity-super-power of your mind, and how it can transform your everyday leadership.

Polarities, Paradoxes, and Power
Ever notice that one some issues you feel both a push and pull, when you mull over an issue? It’s not something to battle or argue with… it’s a hotbed for innovation. From the boardroom to your living room, understanding your internal contradictions is the key to unlocking creativity.

A Meeting of Minds… Within Yourself
Inner dialogue can be your greatest critic or your supporter. What you maybe didn’t know is just how much it can help your personal growth. Discover how to acknowledge the tension between different parts of yourself, and get on your way to solving complex problems.

Curiosity Didn’t Kill the Cat
Curiosity is an amazing tool. To use it, we need skills in become our own inner observer. This can be tricky, but I share a technique and exercise to help. I learnt it from Beena Sharma (check her out here). Warning! You’ll get friendly with both your fears and your values! You’ll likely discover your fears weren’t half so bad after all, and probably wouldn’t have featured at all if you hadn’t first placed a value on something. Bringing all this to light in self-awareness is the game-changer we are looking for.

Beyond the Boardroom: Leading with Humanity
Leadership isn’t about titles; it’s about influence, connection, and humanity. This episode isn’t just about thriving in your career; it’s about thriving as a human being. We’re mixing psychology, Parts Work, and the magic of self-awareness into a cocktail that’ll refresh your perspective on leadership.
